And I Hope You're Satisfied/To See The Wind Blow Over Me

I am used to living an unconventional lifestyle and having weeks filled with events stumbling and tumbling over one another to reach the end result of Sunday evening. I could never have seen this one coming though.

Lights, camera, action. My week was filled with losing people, gaining new ones, growing closer to those I love the most and growing the furthest from others I never imagined I would, beautiful news, ugly news, a touch of booze, aging, and attention I did not expect to receive.



Tomorrow I need to face the demons at the business office. Hopefully I don't return like this (the news is not pretty, folks)...



...I'm aiming for something along the lines of this.

You know what I've discovered? No matter just how awful things can be in my life, no matter just how many times I can stumble and fall, I always find that putting on a fresh coat of lipstick and dressing up will fix it. This can be seen as a temporary illusion but if your outward appearance radiates confidence and you firmly believe and hold true to yourself, I think that there isn't anything you can't do.

Heads Will Roll

WiFi has been down for a couple of hours making it difficult for me to download a song I wanted but now we are back and running and I am loving the Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Heads Will Roll"...which I do realize is in a "The City" commercial but oh well. Sometimes those in charge of the marketing for reality shows do find truly catchy songs.

I'll be totally honest right now. If I had my way, there would be a trail of decapitated heads lining from the admissions building to the furthest residence hall, Trinity. I woke up this morning with a mouthful of bitch pills and have been in a sour mood for the majority of the day. There isn't a particular reason either...I just haven't been feeling like myself for awhile. All I want to do is sit outside in the sun and let the sunlight and wind hug me. Instead I'm in a cold classroom, mindlessly scribbling in my notebooks and locked in a perpetually bored state where I'll just say anything even if it isn't related to our topic of choice.

Senioritis has struck...only the second week in.
Oh boy.

At night I like to sit alone in the bleachers and stare at the stars and the various shades of the night sky while listening to Liv Kristine and The Arcade Fire. Thoughts about the past, present, future, images, colors. It's becoming one of my favorite sweet escapes from just general life and education.

I wonder why I am the only one who does this? Or at least the only one I see anyway.

Moving on, if we're getting slice and dice friendly, inspiration must follow.



Cliche I know to include some Alice in Wonderland but just look at Anne Hathaway...she's ethereal. Ah, 2010 you are gonna be great.



As it turns out, all of my best friends and I were absolutely obsessed with Sleepy Hollow when it first came out. Who wasn't? This was a movie that globally affected young girls everywhere. I watched this over and over in the 6th grade and developed a huge crush on Johnny Depp and the wardrobe of Christina Ricci. Colleen Atwood is too good...her costumes make me blush, they are so top notch.



Back in high school, I used to get dressed and watch music videos for hours until it was time to go to school. I stress hours because I used to wake up at 6am just to watch whatever the MTV/MTV2 or VH1 channels had to offer. Gwen Stefani's "What You Waiting For" was one of my favorites. Trippy and pretty.

I'm almost done with my religion exam. Just one more essay and that's it. No more junior year. I'm procrastinating it out...sleep is about 1,396 years away from me right now.

Thursday is the last day of my job at the front desk. Saturday is the last day at the Star until next semester. I start my new job with university relations on Wednesday and my Community Service Center internship in June.

I'm addicted to work; a workaholic. I'm in an intense love affair with working, we've been together for 10 years and counting.

Pink Lipstick
1) Ultra girly, ultra sassy, ultra springtime. Inspired by Barbie, pink is beginning to crop up on the lips of girls everywhere...it's less severe and more sweet than its other...
Red Lipstick
2) Sexy is back forever with one quick dash across the lips. This lipstick is sensual but commanding in a way that sends the boys flying across the room, backing into a corner with the girls with clear lip gloss. Your presence is known.

Who will triumph?

Hello, what's this? A somber outfit paired with sheer makeup? A clean, runway ready look.

Everything about her is so old world glamour. Love the matte lips.

The beauty about red lipstick, especially a powerful red, is that you really don't need any other makeup on if you don't want to put any on. The red is so vibrant that it steals the show.

Pink, on the other hand, needs a boost to enliven the rest of your face. This is usually involving eye shadow and eyeliner. If you want to keep your eyes a lesser focus, then extend the pink to the cheeks with blush.

Or you could paint your hands and hide your face from the world. It looks cuter than wearing a paper bag. Tee-hee.
