Lol. But the truth is, I wasn't invited to wild parties like that in college either. People took one look at me (small Indian girl who is editor of the school paper) and made their own assumption. Like you, I'm not a wild sorority girl, but I think I'm a little crazier than people realize.

And just like you, I have often spent time wondering what my life would be like if I were a different person. Sometimes I look at my best friend, Kerrie, and I envy her because she is gorgeous and glamorous and a partyholic. She gets invited to those kinds of parties weekly. But then again, that's not the life I want. For example, she just got back from a week in NYC with a few of her college friends. She spent one year saving up $2,000 to go on this trip and stay at a four star hotel. All she did there was go clubbing. I'm not kidding. She came back with tons of photos of her looking hot and drunk and with wild stories of hooking up with local guys. It's times like that when I realize I love who I am. I'm the girl who would go to NYC to visit awesome museums and go shopping at fabulous stores and walk in Central Park.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love how you also feel that way about yourself. While it's frustrating being the girl no one invites to dumb ass parties while you're 20-something, it is better to be the person who, for the rest of her life, becomes the cultured, intelligent, worldly woman everyone wants to be and everyone wants to know. :)Jennifer Fabuloushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07521908385026885699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5390256029784869694.post-41770869342981178392011-04-20T10:41:47.387-07:002011-04-20T10:41:47.387-07:00I love this post. I think they are pretending in order to hide who they are because they haven't embraced the real them yet.Tiffany Kadanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08887874943048853535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5390256029784869694.post-88552768776555070972011-04-19T18:56:00.799-07:002011-04-19T18:56:00.799-07:00totally agree with #10...alcohol isn't called ...totally agree with #10...alcohol isn't called liquid courage for nothing but being around your friends/family brings out the true you!Jaime @ laviejaimehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14769468349542761649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5390256029784869694.post-54303520721611504932011-04-19T13:32:54.467-07:002011-04-19T13:32:54.467-07:00off topic, but i read that book called "i'...off topic, but i read that book called "i'm down". i liked the cover. but i didn't think much of the book. kind of lame.drollgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17098844996589898590noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5390256029784869694.post-85582572122126918122011-04-19T11:23:56.407-07:002011-04-19T11:23:56.407-07:00Ha ha, mine either (just read the last comment ;))...Ha ha, mine either (just read the last comment ;)) Am not such a party animal anyway!Martinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13574063839585346586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5390256029784869694.post-76383357578899303972011-04-19T10:08:26.336-07:002011-04-19T10:08:26.336-07:00I found myself cracking up at this post as you bas...I found myself cracking up at this post as you basically ran a mental checklist through your brain of why you are not invited to Pimps and Ho's parties. I have never been invited to one either, and I like to think it's because whomever would be stupid enough to invite me would just get MY patented look of "What planet are you from again?"

Here's to NOT being invited to parties that are demeaning and debauched. No. 10 is so true right - just be yourself in front of true friends. I wanted to read Foreign Policy magazine and not party, for goodness sake!

NOW, though, I sort of regret it a little. Apparently, I missed out on some incredible opportunities when I was a young fella. Just Google the term "lingerie party", with "webshots". Apparently, many a college dude can enjoy such fun IN PERSON without feeling a sad thrill and shame by downloading other people's pictures of such shenanigans years later. Go figure.

In spite of that, to this day, I prefer, like George Thorogood (spelling error there), to drink alone. Never liked the bar or party scene. I could never possibly come across as comfortable in such scenarios, even if my friends could.

So, yeah -- I understand.Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13517857978576422454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5390256029784869694.post-53151428796407966822011-04-18T22:49:01.743-07:002011-04-18T22:49:01.743-07:00Loved It.
